Relax with the whole family at this serene 4bdr home located 45-60 mins outside of Accra in the Aburi mountains. Surrounded by nature and beautiful sunsets, this one acre property is the perfect escape from the city. It has a beautifully maintained lush garden and playground for kids. Two of the bedrooms open out to a sparkling swimming pool. This indoor-outdoor house was designed by an award-winning South African architect. Its an open plan concept and you will enjoy cooking with a view.
The space
Casa Aburi, as we fondly call it is located in Agyementi, Aburi. It is off the beaten track. However, we can provide you with a GPS location or precise directions via text or email. Before you reach the property, there is a bumpy drive of about 15 minutes due to the untarred road. The beauty of the property will make up for the safari-like drive. This home is the ideal place for nature lovers who crave some peace and quiet and enjoy the sounds of the birds, sunsets and aren't intimidated by small lizards (our casual houseguests). Our team does their best to check the home for creepy crawlies before your arrival, but be mindful about leaving the doors & windows open during your stay. The entire house, pool and gardens are just for you during your stay. Feel free to read books, watch TV (Netflix and DSTV are available), swim and go for nature walks in the area. It is very safe. Kindly request for a safety net to cover the pool if you are visiting with small children.
Guest access
Your reservation is for the entire house and therefore you have access to the whole property and garden area, except for the staff quarters.
Other things to note
Power fluctuations are common in Ghana which is why rechargeable lamps are made available in every room. The property does not have a solar back up at the moment and we apologise in advance for inconveniences caused by power outages.
Neighborhood description
Aburi is known for its relatively cool climate, mountains and greenery. It hosts the botanical gardens, Aburi craft market, Ashesi University, a popular farmers market and the place of choice of hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Great places to enjoy a meal and entertainment nearby are Hillburi and Peduase Lodge (which has a petting zoo as well). It is 45 minutes away from Accra.
